It's 2019...can we please stop shaming girls for being CONFIDENT?

It's 2019, right? Everyone is fighting for equality, right? Because truth be told, we are all HUMAN and we should ALL be EQUAL, right?

Apparently not everyone agrees...trust me, I know this doesn't come as a SHOCK to many of us...

I just heard something on the news along these lines that REALLY bothered me and I can't be the only one.

A morning network news anchor was interviewing one of the members of the U.S. Women's Soccer team...
About midway through the interview she asks her about a "controversy" surrounding the team...

Apparently some people think the team is "TOO CONFIDENT" and displaying "UNSPORTSMANLIKE" behavior during the matches and while celebrating their victories…

So the newscaster asked her how she felt about that...

ARE YOU FREAKIN' KIDDING ME?
THEY ARE THE BEST IN THE WORLD...THEY HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO BE CONFIDENT...
WHAT KIND OF QUESTION IS THAT?

Has anyone ever asked Mike Trout, LeBron James, Tom Brady...if they thought they might be coming across as “TOO CONFIDENT” after a big win? SERIOUSLY??

NO, quite the opposite, they are IDOLIZED and CELEBRATED for their victories and their DOMINANCE of their opponents…
They worked hard to be the best in the world and they deserve the praise!

So why the double standard for female athletes?

This is 2019 after all…Get with the program people…Equality should mean equality for ALL OF US! Girls included...EVERYONE included!

As moms we teach our children to be confident, but tell our girls not to come off as TOO CONFIDENT, for fear they might come across as mean, unkind or "bitchy"...

Well, you know what, I'm over it.
I'm done being nice and telling my daughter to always be humble...

Don't get me wrong, I want her to be kind...ALWAYS...

But you know what, she's a BAD ASS and she needs to start sticking up for herself and always be CONFIDENT that she's just as good as anyone else...boy, girl...whatever...and never be afraid to be PROUD of every single one of her accomplishments and never be afraid to have a little swagger after reaching  her goals.

I by no means want her to be arrogant...that's a disgusting trait in my opinion...

But never again will I tell my daughter to be CONFIDENT, but not "TOO CONFIDENT"...

This goes out to all the girls who set high goals, crush them and deserve to be recognized for their achievements without being afraid of what others might think...

CONFIDENCE IS A GOOD THING....A GREAT THING...AND WE SHOULD ALWAYS CELEBRATE GREATNESS!!! ❤️πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ™ŒπŸΌπŸ’ͺ🏼 #NOTSORRY #GIRLSAREBADASSESTOO #BECONFIDENT #GOALCRUSHERS #GoUSA #GIRLBOSS
