A super simple way to keep the Christmas Magic Alive!

We all get super busy this time of year...
During the holidays there never seems to be enough time in the day to get everything done on our to-do list...especially for us moms, who are 99.9% in charge of keeping the holidays merry and bright for can be downright exhausting....😴

So, when there's a way to keep the magic alive AND it doesn't take up a lot of time or effort...or most importantly, and I can't stress this enough, doesn't involve an ELF...I'M IN!

The magic I'm talking about can be achieved in about 10 minutes or less and is a fun family tradition.

And the best part, it also makes a great GIFT! **BONUS**

This sparkling mixture of yummy goodness is SO EASY to make!

It's a special treat meant to be sprinkled on the lawn on Christmas Eve.

Legend has it the magical mixture acts as a beacon to guide Santa's Reindeer to your home...
The treat even includes a special poem explaining how it works:

"Sprinkle on the lawn at night,
The moon will make it sparkle bright,
As Santa's reindeer fly and roam,
the scent will lead them to your home."

Chances are you already have all the necessary ingredients on hand:
1. Oatmeal
2. Sugar Sprinkles (red and green work best, but really any sparkly sprinkles will do the trick!)

Yep, that's it! Told you it was simple!
Simply mix them all together, pop them in a bag or little favor tin and you're done. (I added mini-marshmallows to mine!)

As a special touch, you can make stickers or tags to make your treat extra special...
Or even can get all the premade stickers and tags right here!

This also makes for a nice gift for friends or classmates. And if you're a teacher this is a great classroom activity.
So there you go! A fun and simple way to spend time with the kids & keep the magic of Christmas alive in 10 minutes or less...🀣

Hey, it's something...Now back to that to-do list!!!

P.S...I'd love to hear about your favorite family tradition...only if you have time ;)

Just when you thought you'd seen it all when it comes to HALLOWEEN DECOR & haven' me!

I'm always amazed with how creative and crafty people can be when it comes to Halloween...and this year did not disappoint!

Here are some of my favorite FUNNY & UNUSUAL HALLOWEEN FINDS!

1. Ok, I love these GHOST POOP TREAT BAGS for kids. These would be great as a giveaway for classmates during a Halloween party or something a teacher could give out as a good behavior award. Kids are sure to find them hilarious...because...well, POOP! And they are super simple, just grab some cellophane baggies, mini-marshmallows, print out the stickers and you've got a spooktacular treat!

2. And if one Halloween Poop find wasn't's another one! Ever heard of HALLOWEEN EMBROIDERED TOILET PAPER? Neither had I, until I found this! This adorable Halloween-inspired design is sewn directly onto the toilet paper...but only on the first sheet of the roll, so it's usable! It comes packaged in a clear plastic bag tied with a cute bow, so it's perfect for gift-giving. This would make a great "gag" gift!

3. This next find is guaranteed to turn heads...a "BOO BEES T-SHIRT" ...I mean, c'mon...that's funny! I honestly thought I'd heard of every bad boob pun known to man, then I saw this! Honestly, it's a HOOT...get it, a HOOT?! Ok, next...

4. These candles remind me of PAC-MAN...super cute! I just love this design: "IF YOU'VE GOT IT, HAUNT IT" ...and there are so many more to choose from (some pretty racy ones too!) and that's not even the best can select your own SCENT & SIZE! How cool is that? Love IT!!!

5. Last, but certainly not least, a HALLOWEEN-INSPIRED BUBBLE BAR! What is a BUBBLE BAR you ask? (not gonna lie, I didn't know either)...Only one of the trendiest items on Etsy right now! Apparently when you crumble one of these adorable pumpkin shaped bubble bars under running water they create heaps of soft, creamy luxurious bubbles that leave your skin feeling silky smooth. And the beauty of these particular bars is that they are from a small batch shop in HAWAII...Aloha!!! And each bar is VEGAN, ORGANIC and sourced from companies that source ethically. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!!

So there you have it...5 of my FAVORITE & UNUSUAL Halloween finds.
Hope you get the chance to try them out and if you do, please drop me a line and let me know what you think!
And check out my shop at Dream Designs Now on Etsy for other fun holiday ideas and inspiration!

Happy Halloween!

MY LOVE/HATE RELATIONSHIP WITH "TikTok" - no, not Ke$ha's song 🀣

Is it just me or is TikTok rivaling FORT NITE these days on the "WHAT'S DRIVING PARENTS MOST CRAZY" scale?!'s non-stop!

I mean every time I look over at my passenger side my daughter is videotaping herself doing who knows some crazy song or new parody for all the world to see in hopes that the video goes viral and she'll become TIK TOK FAMOUS...yes, sadly, that's a thing!

Here's me secretly recording her in the car doing a TikTok - lol! (and yes, if you are wondering, my car was in park!)

This is truly what's going on in my car EVERY. SINGLE. SECOND. OF. EVERY. SINGLE. CAR. RIDE...

And don't judge me...if you are reading this you know it happens in your car too...if not...stop reading. an effort to NOT be "THAT MOM" who hates everything these young kids do these days (just typing those words make me feel ancient) in an effort to be "cool" and not "un-cool" I've asked to watch some of the videos to see what all the hype is about...

And honestly, as much as I hate how it consumes their every waking hour, some of these little skits are actually funny 🀣
For example...this is Baylie and Cat lip-syncing a scene from the Kardashians...

I know, I'm biased, but both of these girls seem to have some acting chops...or at least some great comedic timing πŸ˜‚.
(for more Baylie & Cat Shenanigans you can follow them on TikTok
Baylie: @bayliebech
Catalina: @_ccatalinaa
Oh yeah, Jake is on there too and some of his videos have had almost 20k likes - ha!
Jake: @jake_bechtel40

I guess my point's not ALL BAD, but as with everything in life, it's definitely something kids should do in moderation...and something parents need to check in on now and then...

If you want the whole backstory on if you're wondering "didn't this used to be" does it work, who's behind it, how much money does it make???,'s a good article that covers all you ever wanted to know.

I'd love to hear your thoughts...feel free to drop me a line or hey, your favorite TikTok...let's make it go VIRAL - LOL!

It's 2019...can we please stop shaming girls for being CONFIDENT?

It's 2019, right? Everyone is fighting for equality, right? Because truth be told, we are all HUMAN and we should ALL be EQUAL, right?

Apparently not everyone me, I know this doesn't come as a SHOCK to many of us...

I just heard something on the news along these lines that REALLY bothered me and I can't be the only one.

A morning network news anchor was interviewing one of the members of the U.S. Women's Soccer team...
About midway through the interview she asks her about a "controversy" surrounding the team...

Apparently some people think the team is "TOO CONFIDENT" and displaying "UNSPORTSMANLIKE" behavior during the matches and while celebrating their victories…

So the newscaster asked her how she felt about that...

Has anyone ever asked Mike Trout, LeBron James, Tom Brady...if they thought they might be coming across as “TOO CONFIDENT” after a big win? SERIOUSLY??

NO, quite the opposite, they are IDOLIZED and CELEBRATED for their victories and their DOMINANCE of their opponents…
They worked hard to be the best in the world and they deserve the praise!

So why the double standard for female athletes?

This is 2019 after all…Get with the program people…Equality should mean equality for ALL OF US! Girls included...EVERYONE included!

As moms we teach our children to be confident, but tell our girls not to come off as TOO CONFIDENT, for fear they might come across as mean, unkind or "bitchy"...

Well, you know what, I'm over it.
I'm done being nice and telling my daughter to always be humble...

Don't get me wrong, I want her to be kind...ALWAYS...

But you know what, she's a BAD ASS and she needs to start sticking up for herself and always be CONFIDENT that she's just as good as anyone else...boy, girl...whatever...and never be afraid to be PROUD of every single one of her accomplishments and never be afraid to have a little swagger after reaching  her goals.

I by no means want her to be arrogant...that's a disgusting trait in my opinion...

But never again will I tell my daughter to be CONFIDENT, but not "TOO CONFIDENT"...

This goes out to all the girls who set high goals, crush them and deserve to be recognized for their achievements without being afraid of what others might think...

Why I took a break from blogging...EXCITING NEWS!!!

I don't know about you but I CAN NOT believe it's already March 2019...first of all, how can we already be 3 months into the new year and seriously how in the heck is it almost TWO THOUSAND TWENTY???

It truly seems crazy to me to even say that.

Lord, do I feel ancient...I mean I was born WAY BACK IN THE sounds like the dark ages for goodness sake! And my kids are happy to remind me of that whenever given the chance! (My achy bones remind me daily as well!)

Time is truly flying by, sometimes at what seems like warp speed, especially now that my kids are getting older (Jake is going to his HIGH SCHOOL orientation this week and Baylie will turn 12 in a few, just wow!)

WHAT IS GOING ON??? I swear it seems like yesterday we were having playdates with friends at the park, now they go to the park ALL BY THEMSELVES πŸ₯Ί...

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the alone time, but the sad reality is that my alone time is just going to start increasing exponentially over the next few years until one day I will I open my eyes and poof, they'll be gone...

UGHHH...ok, that's too much to think about right steps...

So my point is that my kids are getting older and more independent it's time for mommy to find herself again...find a purpose and a passion!

As some of you might already know, I've been craving a creative outlet for a long time now. Hence, the reason for this blog. And yes, I know I've been on a long break, but I REALLY need to be inspired to write...I need something to spark my creative juices...something to really light a fire under my butt...something big enough to fill the void that's been growing inside of me since leaving my full-time job many years ago at FOX 13 to start a family.

I have always had a passion for creating things...back in my 20s it was a newscast, a show, a well-written script to tease a story, evoke emotion or to simply retell the day's news.

In my 30s and 40s, my attention turned to volunteer work....the PTA, the YMCA Advisory Board and charity events to raise money for the community and less fortunate children...things that filled my days and more importantly work that filled my heart.

But I craved something new...a new challenge, a new passion...a new outlet for my creativity...

And I'm so very happy to say that I have finally found what I've been looking for...

Introducing my new side *hustle* if you will:

Click here---->>> DREAM DESIGNS NOW to check it out!

Your one stop shop for creative digital designs and products...

My motto: "If you can dream it, we can design it!" ((ha, "we"'s really only me (for now), but saying "I" sounded so lonely - lol!)...

If you're looking for a custom design, I can do it!!!

I'm in the very beginning stages, but I'm excited about the possibilities! I have so many ideas and I wake up every morning with a renewed passion to CREATE!

Please follow me on DREAM DESIGNS ON FACEBOOK and DREAM DESIGNS INSTAGRAM for the very first look at my latest creations. And I'd really appreciate it if you'd tell a friend!

Thanks for taking the time to read this and if you'd like you can leave a comment below...I'd love to hear about something that inspired you!

ps...if you drop your email in the upper right hand corner of this post I will send you a free printable in the mail, something fun for the kids!
